San Gimignano

Another day of driving in the beautiful countryside - no sunflowers made Mommy sad, though. Even without the flowers, Chianti was still pretty. We drove to the hilltop town of San G, which is described as a "tourist trap which you don't mind enjoying." It was a great place to walk around and had great views from a park at the top. We looked in some art stores and inside an old curch. We then had a great lunch at a Trattoria -where the owner talked to us totally in Italian - and Mommy oredered for herself and asked about allergies also in Italian. We had some great Gelato for dessert and then drove into the countryside. There were lots of fields of wheat but no flowers. We then drove north into wine country and walked around Greve. We got home and had dinner after H bought us bus tickets for Florence for the next day - in Italian!
